Mission Statement
[TBA] is an innovator development company. Our mission is to equip young people with the experiences, tools, and spirit needed to create prosperous lives and civilizations.
What problem are we ultimately trying to solve?
Innovation is the upstream bottleneck of civilization. Enable generations of humans to innovate, and they will be capable of advancing every field, at every scale.
Modern education and societal structures often stifle young people’s innate curiosity, individual agency, and pursuit of truth. Many individuals lack the environments, mentors, and challenges that would allow them to fully realize their potential as innovators. The world is rife with complex, interwoven challenges that require a new generation of thinkers who can navigate uncertainty, push boundaries, and inspire meaningful change. This company seeks to bridge this gap, ensuring that humanity’s young minds are not only nurtured but are also driven to act on their potential to reshape civilization.
What are we building?
The core product will be a digital sandbox world full of “challenges” - simulations, games, and widgets; each is designed to develop adolescents’ skills and habits of innovation.
My first challenge, World’s Fair, is already in beta with a local school district: a simulation where players must innovate on their idea of fairness by allocating land on a new planet.
I’m currently building FounderSim, where players interact with AI customers to discover needs, design products, and sell, just as real founders do.
Each user will be guided by a personal AI tutor with long-term memory that grows alongside them, analyzing their decisions across challenges and giving constructive, confidence-building feedback.
Future challenges will range from learning how to play with a simple tool to creating an in-universe civilization from the ground up alongside friends - the aim is to design challenges that feel as consequential as “real life” situations and as compelling as the best games children play. Each challenge is designed to develop experience with thinking for yourself, making your own decisions, and constantly correcting your errors - the essence of innovation.
Guiding Questions
- What would the world look like if every young person had the confidence and ability to innovate toward their heart’s wildest dreams?
- How can we maximize the potential of human intelligence and innovation to create a civilization that thrives on agency, truth, freedom, and vitality?
- What would the world look like if all young people were prepared to innovate across their lifetimes?
- What would the world look like if all young people were instilled with the values of truth, vitality, and freedom?
- Which single metric would convince you that we're truly amplifying human agency rather than merely entertaining users?
Company Values
- Devotion to the mission
- All decisions are downstream of how a decision helps us develop innovators over the long term
- Seek deep understanding
- We get to the root of issues, seek to ask the “right questions”, and try to understand the game behind the game
- Urgent error correction
- We seek to quickly identify and remove obstacles in the way of our product-developing innovators
- Maximal personal agency
- Extreme ownership, single DRIs for each decision made at the company, permission assumed in all things, no middle management, person with the most demonstrable expertise/judgment makes decisions in that realm
- Excellence is the standard
- “You’re going to work harder than you’ve ever worked”, “You’re going to create the greatest work you can possibly create”
Challenge Values
- Promotes agency
- Empowers participants to take charge of their learning, growth, and decision-making.
- Champions fallibilism
- Encourages the understanding that knowledge is always tentative and that we learn through making mistakes and correcting them. Participants should be constantly hypothesizing, testing, iterating, and critiquing both their own ideas and those of others.
- Strengthens connection
- To self, to fellow humans, and to the universe. Enables a deeper sense of self-understanding, a deeper companionship with peers, and a deeper knowledge about the world.
- Surfaces compelling, consequential, and creative decisions
- Enthralls participants with immersive choices that have tangible impact on the platform and on their growth. Naturally pushes participants to come up with creative ways to solve challenging problems. Allows participants to realize the impact of their decisions.
- Feels like play
- Engages a participant’s faculties in the way that being in flow does. Learning and growth are never boring or high-stress, self-contained, or lacking passion!
